Could you please try firstly removing linux-backport-modules-
alsa-2.6.32-22-generic, and installing linux-alsa-driver-
modules-2.6.32-22-generic from the Ubuntu Audio Dev PPA,
http://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-audio-dev/+archive, ensure you have all
module options from your /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf file removed,
and reboot?
