I am having a similar issue with gnome-terminal (2.29.6-ubuntu5 with libvte 1:0.23.5-0ubuntu1) on Lucid x86_32. It has actually been going on since at least Lucid alpha 3, and probably Karmic (I forget). System is completely up to date -- `apt-get dist-upgrade` every 2-3 days, with all repositories enabled including proposed & backports.
Sometimes when I run installs (apt-get dist-upgrade, but also some simple package installs), my gnome-terminal backgrounds flash from transparent to solid black. Steve reports his workaround as "toggle from 'solid color' to 'background image' and back". I can similarly fix my issue by toggling from background image to solid color and back. This makes me think that LP#513655 was "fixed" by now forcing the terminal to solid color mode instead of whatever it was being forced to before. This fixes Steve's issue because solid color was the mode he _wanted_. For a proper fix, it needs to not be forced into any particular mode. -- every time fontconfig trigger is run, vte color scheme goes wrong in all my terminals https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/513655 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
