I did a regular update, in which ONE OF THE PACKAGES could not be downloaded (opera browser). All the other packages were installed successfully.
After this I get the following message from Synaptic and from apt-get: [quote] Could not initialize the package information An unresolvable problem occurred while initializing the package information.
