hello,

sounds like my experience. recently upgraded my system to Lucid Lynx LTS
(re-formatted the drive) from 7.10. we run several user accounts for
the family. somebody stays logged in, and Switch User gets another
login without disturbing the first. When ANY user logs off, no logon
screen is presented, the X window goes black and hangs indefinitely.
The result is that nobody can log off without crashing. A hard crash
(pull the plug!) is the only way we have worked around this. Hate to
keep doing that repeatedly. not sure if this is gnome, the OS, X11, or
what...

I have added some programs; also have gotten the recommended upgrades
installed thinking it may help. not sure what kind of other info would
be useful to unravel this issue.
