My old Ubuntu 6.10 system reports:

$ ls -alF /usr/bin/dos2unix
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 7 Dec 22  2006 /usr/bin/dos2unix -> fromdos*
$ file /usr/bin/fromdos
 $ ls -alF /usr/bin/fromdos
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 9780 Jun 15  2006 /usr/bin/fromdos*
/usr/bin/fromdos: ELF 32-bit LSB executable, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), for
GNU/Linux 2.6.0, dynamically linked (uses shared libs), for GNU/Linux 2.6.0,
stripped

On Ubuntu 10.04, it seems that the package 'tofrodos' no longer adds
these symlinks.

On reflection, I will convert my scripts that use 'dos2unix' to
'fromdos'. That seems the most robust in the long term. Robbie Morrison,
