Public bug reported:
Hi, I'm new to ubuntu.
I just installed Ubuntu 9.10 - the Karmic Koala - released in October 2009 and
supported until April 2011.
I tried to copy files on my usb drive. I just tried to copy from one
directory to another directory on the same usb drive. IO Wait jumped to
over 95% and the 3.5GB file took over 1 hour to copy. When I used
windows xp, it just took a few minutes to copy.
Also when I was trying to download email message from gmail to my usb
drive, io wait jumped to 95% too and I couldn't download email at all.
I used ubuntu jaunty 9.04 before, there wasn't this problem with copying files
on usb drive that will cause io wait to skyrocketing.
But I don't know what package is causing this.
Please let me know if there is any fix.
Thanks.
Sheila
