Scott, ppa-purge was just a chance to downgrade the packages that were upgraded to 4.5 RC1 before apt locking with libphonon-dev, it did NOT disable the ppa. If you search with Google, you may see that I'm not the only one affected by this bug and that it's almost ten days since this bug is present. I changed libphonon-dev entry in /var/lib/dpkg/status to depend on libphonon4 >= 4.6.x (instead of =4:4.6.x) and upgraded to RC1 with `aptitude full-upgrade -f` and many `apt-get install -f` and `sudo dpkg -a --configure`. Now, I'm on KDE 4.5 RC1, but dpkg could not install libphonon-dev anyway due to a missing file. If you've read the logs, you know which one.
