pfr...@spot:~$ ps x | grep polkit 2110 pts/0 S+ 0:00 grep --color=auto polkit
Just the grep shows up. Running users-admin from the terminal is silent, even when I click on the "Click to make changes" button. So it doesn't say much but I will paste it anyways: pfr...@spot:~$ users-admin Maybe this is more useful? http://img101.imageshack.us/img101/4779/usersadmin.png Probably not but just so you know I'm not messing with you. This might be of some use? pfr...@spot:~$ ps aux | grep polkit root 1697 0.0 0.6 5972 3532 ? S 06:58 0:00 /usr/lib/policykit-1/polkitd pfred1 2236 0.0 0.1 3040 796 pts/0 R+ 07:26 0:00 grep --color=auto polkit pfr...@spot:~$ I thought of it just before I sent the mail off. --- On Tue, 6/29/10, Milan Bouchet-Valat <[email protected]> wrote: From: Milan Bouchet-Valat <[email protected]> Subject: [Bug 599441] Re: users-admin "Click to make changes" button does nothing To: [email protected] Date: Tuesday, June 29, 2010, 6:23 AM So could you post the output of 'ps x | grep polkit' here? Also, please run 'users-admin' from a terminal, and paste the messages here too. -- users-admin "Click to make changes" button does nothing https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/599441 You received this bug notification because you are a direct subscriber of the bug. Status in “system-tools-backends” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Binary package hint: system-tools-backends 1) Ubuntu 9.10 - the Karmic Koala 2) gnome-system-tools 2.28.1-0ubuntu2 3) When I clicked on the "Click to make changes" button in users-admin I expected a dialog box to pop up so I could type in my password. 4) Nothing happened. P.S. sudo users-admin in a terminal did make the application pop up fully functional. Just without the "Click to make changes" button at all. Thanks for reading this.
