This bug is caused by one installation of Linux overriding the current installation. So far, using another install or release is the only way I've found to solve it.

Unable to connect to x server No such process ERRNO 3. Server error Error in locking authority file/home/aidake/.Xauthority. Fatal server error. Could not create lock file in /tmp/.tXO-lock Than it takes me back to the command prompt. This is release 9.04 This problem came up once before when I had to manually shut it down but I booted from the original disk and restarted and that fixed it. Wasn't the case this time.
