This bug is caused by one installation of Linux overriding the current
installation. So far, using another install or release is the only way
I've found to solve it.

Subject: [Bug 372013] Re: Ubuntu fails to launch server x

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been
any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue
for you. Can you try with the latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.

Status in Ubuntu: Incomplete

Bug description:
Binary package hint: ubuntu-docs

After boot info and pswd is given it reads:

Cannot create a temp file, the connection has been refused, ERRNO111.
Unable to connect to x server

No such process ERRNO 3. Server error

Error in locking authority file/home/aidake/.Xauthority. Fatal server
error. Could not create lock file in /tmp/.tXO-lock

Than it takes me back to the command prompt.

This is release 9.04

This problem came up once before when I had to manually shut it down but
I booted from the original disk and restarted and that fixed it. Wasn't
the case this time.
