I think I'm seeing this on windows 7 on the same machine (Thinkpad T60). And 
then I found this:

Maybe a workaround could be to turn off power-saving on the card:
sudo iwconfig wlan0 power off

iwconfig wlan0 power off can be added to /etc/rc.local if it seems to be
working I guess.

I havn't tested this yet.
