Hello All

Happy but why did WIFI start to work?

I have posed several request for help for no wifi on HP laptop. I used
the Ubuntu trouble shooting page and found there was a hard block by running
code: rfkill list

I read some other sites and decided to look at the BIOS. Never got to
the BIOS but I got to this list of about 15 different options starting
with 10.04. I went through the list looking for a BIOS option. None
were found. Went back to the top and hit enter. The laptop booted up
and the wifi started to work? Happy but why did it start to work?

This is not a firefox bug and I'm thinking it is not a bug but rather the local
network you are using.
This bug needs to be re-assigned to correct package. Until that tie i have
changed source package to Ubuntu. I also changed status to incomplete while
waiting for re-assignment

** Package changed: firefox (Ubuntu) => ubuntu

** Changed in: ubuntu
       Status: New => Incomplete

Hello All

A few weeks ago my HP lap top's wireless connection was fine with Ubuntu
9.10. I installed updates a few days before Ubuntu 10.04 came out. Thats
when the different routers ( mine and the 3 or 4 others in the
neighborhood disappeared form the wireless pull down menu. I have not
been able to connect to my Netgear router since. (I could and can
connect with a wire.)

I tried a reinstall of the router. (Reinstalling the WEB Key) No luck.

So I installed Ubuntu 10.04 hoping that would recognize the routers
again. No luck.

One of the local Linux experts at wlug said I should report the bug.  I
thought the next update would include the fix. 2 or 3 updates later my
computer does not recognize the router.

I have very limited experience with computers. Please help.
