Binary package hint: empathy
Lucid 10.04 with Empathy 2.30.1.1 and indicator-applet 0.3.7. When
using the default indicator-applet on the status bar, I get no
notifications for incoming chats or comments to existing chats. By
removing the indicator-applet from the bar, Empathy seems to default
back to using its own status icon and notifications work fine. This
happens 100% of the time for me and I can easily switch back and forth
between the two situations to replicate the issue. I have tested this
with the help of other accounts on both gmail chat and facebook chat.
