I posted this bug nearly one month ago. My computer runs apport enabled and all (I get error messages and propositions to report them for various crashes now...), but I didn't get any crash from gnome-settings-daemon, although often my GTK theme is not loaded because gnome-settings-daemon is not launched.
Apparently, it just doesn't launch, it doesn't seem like a crash, right? Plus, when launching it by hand, sometimes I get this message: ** (gnome-settings-daemon:2124): WARNING **: Grab failed for some keys, another application may already have access the them. BTW, the English in the message is not so good...
