Public bug reported:
Most applications with some kind audio component segfault when started
as a normal user, works ok when launched with sudo.
Sound does works.
Example :
$ alsamixer
Segmentation fault
$ dmesg | tail -1
[85176.329383] alsamixer[1311]: segfault at 9f9eebd8 ip 9feedaf7 sp bfc5dfb4
error 4 in libpthread-2.8.90.so[9fee7000+15000]
But
$ sudo alsamixer
Works ok
Same with the volume control applet
User is in the audio group :
$ id
uid=1000(demo) gid=1000(demo)
groups=1000(demo),4(adm),20(dialout),24(cdrom),25(floppy),29(audio),30(dip),44(video),46(plugdev),107(fuse),109(lpadmin),115(admin)
