Yes, I can confirm what Pedro says, but I'm not quite happy. You see, after installing Tracker I now get often hundreds of search results for a simple search in Nautilus, when I for example search for a single file using some character string on it's name. I may know that there's only one file with that specific string in it's name, but unfortunately the string often exists inside quite a many of the tens of thousands of documents in my home folder. The apparent reason for this bahaviour is that after installing Tracker Nautilus is using it for searching.
There seems to be no way in Nautilus to change how the search is done. You can tell Tracker not to index contents of the files at all, but you can't choose to search for file contents only when you need to. Although not high priority, the error in the Nautilus help shouldn't be difficult to fix. -- nautilus search doesn't work as described in help https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/582903 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
