SoundConverter was designed to converter hundred of files, not thousands. And you are absolutely right, SoundConverter can only convert files when their tags have been read. Even if they are not used. This will be fixed in 2.0. For now, wait for all the tags to be read (the status will display "Ready"). Maybe we should de-sensitive the convert button when loading?
