I experience the same problem (mouse and keyboard stuttering every 5-10s for a short while) with a 2.6.35-020635rc3-generic kernel on Lucid. In my case, it looks like it may be related to my Radeon video card's dynamic power saving modes.
The following works for me: echo profile > /sys/class/drm/card0/device/power_method (results in driver not using dynpm and sticking to fixed gpu/memory clocks) cat /sys/kernel/debug/dri/0/radeon_pm_info default engine clock: 875000 kHz current engine clock: 874960 kHz default memory clock: 1250000 kHz current memory clock: 1250000 kHz If I then re-enable dynpm I don't experience the problem anymore, except when the driver decides to go down to a lower clock speed (which I'm not sure how to control). -- [gm45] Xorg stuttering on clean maverick amd64 bit install https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/599068 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
