Hi Daniel,

I disabled pulseaudio and used mplayer to play a mp3 file. The situation now is
the following:
1.) The symptoms are the same, 'Master' doesn't do anything. 'PCM' works just
fine.
2.) Front does what I expect 'Master' should do. I expect that, if i change the
volume on my keyboard (got volume up and down there, used to work in 9.10) the
output volume changes linearly. Now, with pulseaudio activated the 'Master
Front' channel changes very quickly from 100 to 0 without decreasing (or
increasing) the actual output volume. Still decreasing the volume on my
keyboard, the 'Front' channel decreases in two or three large steps which
affects the actual output level. But not linearly..
