This is a heap corruption.
That code path that raised this fault does not exist anymore, so I will
mark this bug fixed. However, it is not unlikely that the actual bug was
in a completely different part of the code. libc might detect heap
corruption only later. Unfortunately, there is absolutely no way to find
that out; you'd have to reproduce the problem under valgrind or
something similar.
