Public bug reported:
HP Pavillion DV9628NR laptop Synaptics Touchpad stopped working. Ubuntu 10.04
has been installed for 3 weeks on a dual boot Windows 7 laptop and Synaptics

Have reinstalled xserver-xorg-input-sybaptics. Have entered the following in
shmconfig.fdi:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<deviceinfo version="0.2">
<device>
<match key="input.x11_driver" string="synaptics">
<merge key="input.x11_options.SHMConfig" type="string">on</merge>
</match>
</device>
</deviceinfo>
