Similar problem still around in 10.04 LTS Lucid. My keyboard and/or mouse hang up at random intervals, and once they hang up, the only "cure" is to reboot the machine. My system has no PS/2 connections, just USB. There are no "legacy" settings in the BIOS. This is the only system on which I have this problem, but it is the one that most desperately needs to be running a version of Linux. I've also tried other distributions, and the same problem occurs. It isn't unique to Ubuntu, or Debian-based distros. Likewise, no useful information in the log files.
