Found a workaround!
Comment out the line
self.file_chooser.set_current_folder(UBUNTU_ONE_ROOT)
in MagicicadaUI.__init__(), in magicicada/__init__.py, line 138.
The only side effect is that when you want to see the metadata of a
file, the file chooser will not open in the Ubuntu One folder.
