As I understand it, you should only have desktop menu entries for
genuine standalone GUI applications.  Aptitude is a curses application,
which is really just a method of making a CLI program *look like* a GUI
application (i.e. it runs inside a terminal window; it isn't really a
proper GUI app).

Saying that, aptitude-gtk is now available, and this does provide a menu
entry.  Is this a good enough solution?
