DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu 10.04 LTS"
When I go to system-administration-synaptic package manager and click on it I
get the icon to enter my administration password. After entering I get the
synaptic package manager icon with all the packages listed. I was trying to
install webalizer so I did a search and clicked on the webalizer line and the
synaptic package icon closed. I tried both left and right click with the same
results the synaptic package closes. I also tried to go to a package that was
already install and click on the line and got the same results. With other
releases I use(8.04LTS), when I click on the line I get information on the
package. Then I click on the square I get an icon that asks if I want to
install the package. If I click on install, the line turns green and I can
click on apply to down load and install the package. I went out on google to
search for a solution but couldn't find one. That's when I went to your help
page to entered the question. System→Preferences→Appearances Visual Effects is
set to "None".
