I had the same problem but, tried the upgrade again after "unchecking"
the libc6* packages (three or four of them) and the upgrade worked fine.
Next I upgraded those libc6 (and a few new ones that had just been
posted) and even the libc6 packages installed fine. Maybe it is just a
dependency install order or something... or maybe the Ubuntu developers
are just that fast and efficient!
