maverick meerkat 10.10 fully updated. Happens when using Firefox, Google
chrome and Chromium. I have also tried it on games and it happens there
as well.

mouse pointer disappeares after about 1 second. If screensaver kicks in then
pointer disappeares and only turning laptop off and back on gets pointer back.
Laptop is a Compaq Presario F500.
