This is a patch to the package indicator-me, version 0.2.6-0ubuntu1 (the one present in Lucid). It stores (separately) the status messages of Pidgin and of Mission Control, i.e. of Empathy, and it resets them at each status change through the FUSA.
It works well with Pidgin, since "indicator-me-service" is actually catching every status message change inside Pidgin, so the stored message is always the present one. About Empathy, "indicator-me-service" catches only signals about status *type* changes, so you have to change the status type and the status message simultaneously to get the right behavior. I think that a lot of people actually prefer the original behavior, but it would be nice to have a configurable option somewhere for those of us who think of the status message as a "personal message" or "mood". ** Patch added: "Patch to indicator-me which stores the status message and reset it at each status change." http://launchpadlibrarian.net/51976775/indicator-me_0.2.6-0ubuntu1%2Bmessagepreserving.diff -- using the fast user switch applet or notification area icon to change pidgin status doesn't retain status message https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/299029 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
