In attempting to solve another problem, I expanded my software sources
updates to include pre-released updates (lucid proposed). This, of
course provoked a massive update which I simply shot gunned into my
system. The update included the kernel in question, and this provoked a
reboot. I had to leave the console while this happened, so imagine my
surprise when I returned to the login screen (gdm) to fine that my
keyboard and my mouse were both unresponsive. I forced a restart by
powering off my system, then choosing the previous kernel from GRUB.
I hope you find out what happened, because bad kernels seem to be a
disease lately. I know this is on the proposed list, but I believe it
was premature. This copy of the operating system just happens to be my
test-bed for something else, so I really don't need any additional
problems, guys. Good luck. I'll hop over to your web site and see if
I can add something there, too.
