Here's my proposal A:
(1) I fix ndiswrapper to handle kernel 2.6.35
(2) Kernel provides ndiswrapper-modules
(3) I change ndiswrapper-utils-1.9 to recommend ndiswrapper-modules |
ndiswrapper-dkms
This way, all normal installations use the version shipped in Ubuntu's kernel,
but if needed (e.g., for custom kernels), the dkms version can be used.
Here's my proposal B:
(1) I fix ndiswrapper to handle kernel 2.6.35
(2) linux stops shipping a pre-built ndiswrapper
This way, dkms will be used always.
** Also affects: linux (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
