Hi Mitch,

Thanks very much for your e-mail. Here is what has happened: I installed
Ubuntu One on my laptop, and it was able to access the files that I had put
from one of the computers but not the other. From this I concluded that the
problem was something with the installation on the desktop computer here in
Switzerland. I was installing a new hard drive, so needed to do a clean
install of Ubuntu (gave 10.4 another chance - it does have some advantages,
although the file permissions are pretty inconvenient), and reinstalled
Ubuntu One, which also accesses the same files. So all is working, although
I should have tried the fix before reinstalling Ubuntu.

I very much appreciate your staying on top of this.

By the way, do you help with other problems than Ubuntu One? I have this one
Wine program that ran perfectly under 9.10 that I cannot get to run under
10.4. I wouldn't want to take advantage of your time, if you can help is
there a way that you normally get compensated for your time (website with
PayPal, for example)?

Have a great weekend,

Suzanne
