Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: update-manager

Sometimes, after update-manager has popped up notifying you for updates
and after you have done something else for a while, when you switch back
to update-manager and click the "Install updates" button, nothing
happens. The expected behaviour is that gksu pops up asking for your
password.

You can click as many times as you wish, nothing happens. It works when
you click the refresh button (you can also abort the refresh then) or if
you close and re-open update-manager.

I have experienced this on two fully updated Ubuntu 10.04 boxes. It is
especially a problem for unexperienced users as they just close the
window and in many cases do not know how to get it back to install
security updates.

Unfortunately, I have not found out how to reproduce it yet; the fact
that the button is disabled when no updates are available makes testing
more difficult.

If anyone experiences this, please leave a note below.
