Public bug reported:

on my computer there is more than one Linux distribution; all used to
access the same swap partition (say /dev/sda3)

now more and more distributions address partitions by uuid

BUT: formating the swap partition changes the uuid!

example:

 - distribution 1 uses swap partition with uuid=1234
 - now I install ubuntu, which reformats the swap partition; not it has
uuid=5678;
 - all works fine for the new ubuntu installation, but my previous distrib. 1
cannot anymore access the swap partition!

for this reason: don't touch existing swap partitions, if they are
already formated

** Affects: Ubuntu
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
