Public bug reported:

Whenever I'm playing a video. No matter what program I'm using. If
another application plays a sound then the video's audio playback dies
requiring i kill the video player and restart it. I've tried it on 2
separate user accounts under both GNOME and KDE with the same error.

in /var/logs/user.log

I get these errors every time for Pulse Audio

alsa-sink.c: ALSA woke us up to write new data to the device, but there
was actually nothing to write!

alsa-sink.c: Most likely this is a bug in the ALSA driver
'snd_hda_intel'. Please report this issue to the ALSA developers.

alsa-sink.c: We were woken up with POLLOUT set -- however a subsequent
snd_pcm_avail() returned 0 or another value < min_avail.

ratelimit.c: 22 events suppressed

The ratelimit.c suppressed error's number changes. anywhere from 1 to
225.

I've had this problem as long as I can remember. I'm not sure if it was
with the system since I installed or not.

Im using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Server Edition. The version of alsa-base is
1.0.22.1+dfsg-0ubuntu3
Just in case the version of Pulseaudio is
1:0.9.22~0.9.21+stable-queue-32-g8478-0ubuntu14
