Dear Mike,
as you were told in that list, it is most likely a bug in your code that is
triggering this problem. There are 692 packages depending on libpng, and if the
basic loading of an image were broken there would be other bug reports about
this issue. Of course, this does not exclude a problem in libpng with
certainty, but it makes an error in your code more likely.
If you are sure that is not the case you should provide a *complete* minimal
example, i.e. code and png that exhibits the bug. Not a code snippet but
something that we can compile and run. Note that a bug report is not a place to
get support on programming and we probably won't tell you "how to get it
working", if it is indeed a problem with your code -- thats what mailing lists,
newsgroups and forums are for.
I'll attach a simple program that is based on what you posted to the sdl
mailing list, could you try to run this with the PNG files you are using
and report whether you get the error? Thanks in advance.
