Please try installing the package linux-alsa-driver-modules-generic from
the Ubuntu Audio Dev PPA, https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-audio-
dev/+archive and reboot your system. Once rebooted, please report back
as to whether your issue is fixed.
Could you also tell us a little more about what kind of jack sense
doesn't work, i.e do your internal speakers not mute wen you connect
headphones, internal microphone not muting when connecting external mic,
etc.
