Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-panel
The Add Application Launcher "find" text field has very poor ergonomics. The workflow is always the same: I type a unique filter string, and then choose the matching application. The applet should (a) hide all categories that are empty as a result of the filter string, and (b) default to expanding categories that are not empty, and (c) if only one application remains, it should be pre-selected so I can add by pressing <enter>.
