I just installed Unity in Maverick desktop (64bit) and get the same
problem. I can still see the cursor and when I press the print screen
button the Screenshot Dialog box appears but everything else is
blindingly white

I am using the nvidia-current drivers (256.35) on an 8800GTS. I didn't use the
PPA because the only maverick packages seem to be a slightly older version of
mutter.
