I found another error, so I'm adding this to the bug report: "Also: step 11 reads "diskutil eject/dev/diskN" and it should say "diskutil eject /dev/diskN" with a space between "eject" and "/dev/diskN"."
** Description changed: Binary package hint: ubuntu-docs There's a typo in the instructions for OSX users to burn a USB installer. At http://www.ubuntu.com/desktop/get-ubuntu/download (after selecting USB, MacOS X) the following text is given - 1. Download the desired file 2. Open the Terminal (in /Applications/Utilities/ or query Terminal in Spotlight) 3. Convert the .iso file to .img using the convert option of hdiutil (e.g., hdiutil convert-format UDRW -o ~/path/to/target.img ~/path/to/ubuntu.iso) The final line should say, - hdiutil convert -format UDRW + hdiutil convert -format UDRW not - hdiutil convert-format UDRW + hdiutil convert-format UDRW + + Also: step 11 reads "diskutil eject/dev/diskN" and it should say + "diskutil eject /dev/diskN" with a space between "eject" and + "/dev/diskN". -- Missing space in website instructions for how to burn installer to USB in OSX https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/592021 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
