If you have a spare partition, could you try Debian "testing"? Since you 
experience this bug almost systematically, it would be interesting to see if 
Debian solves your problem like it did for me.

Also, which video drivers do you use? If you have an nvidia card, try this:
lsmod | grep nvidia

It may be that the nvidia proprietary drivers make X slower to boot, resulting 
in The Bug.
Another thing: is your root partition on an SSD?
