My purchases synchronized. They just didn't synchronize where I *expected* them to turn up.
After an hour of grumbling and trying to figure out how to force the U1 client to synchronize (that's another thing — the 10.04 client *needs* a "Sync Now" button) I noticed in a Nautilus window that my available hard-drive space had dropped by an amount roughly equivalent to the space Ubuntu One's web interface said was being taken up by my store purchases. After digging around (and around ... and around ... and eventually realizing I was running in circles), I had the idea to see if the songs I had purchased had somehow managed to show up in Rhythmbox's library. They were, much to my surprise. I pulled up the Properties item for one of the songs, hit the Details tab and voila! My purchased songs *had* been synchronized to my laptop, just not to anyplace I expected to see them. Instead of being in ~/Ubuntu One/Purchased Music/ (which, based on the web interface, was where I logically expected to find them) or even ~/Music/ where one might also logically look, Ubuntu One and RhythmBox had happily buried them in ~/.local/share/ubuntuone/Purchased From Ubuntu One/ and not bothered to mention it to me. The code probably needs to be updated so that Ubuntu One music purchases turn up where people *expect* to find them (the Ubuntu One directory or even a subdirectory of the Music directory) rather than having songs buried in a hidden directory's sub-sub-subdirectory. -- Ubuntu One Music Store Sync doesn't work https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/544540 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
