that shouldn't happen, ever. What *could* happen in certain circumstances is that the local syncdaemon thinks (either correctly or in error) that the server has a new version and at the same time that it has local un-synchronized changes. In such a situation, the local file will be renamed by adding .u1conflict to the filename.
