Public bug reported: Binary package hint: update-manager
OS: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS When installing the flash installer for Ubuntu from this site: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ (APT for Ubuntu 9+) I got the following error from the update manager that said to include it in this error report. 'E:Problem parsing dependency Conflicts, E:Error occurred while processing liblaunchpad-integration1.0-cil (NewVersion1), E:Problem with MergeList /var/lib/dpkg/status, E:The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened.' When I tried to report this error through help-->Report a problem, I got the following error message: "could not determine the package or source package name". Thanks for any suggestions on how you can help me fix this issue. I come from a technical background so can get my hands dirty, but haven't kept my technical skills up to date so its been a while since I did any programming -- and I'm new to linux in general. ** Affects: update-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- update manager crashes upon Flash install and won't let me report bug.
