Binary package hint: gnome-panel
My GNOME session is set with 6 workspaces and the window list is set to
show windows from all workspaces and restore windows from a minimiezed
state to their original workspace.
When right clicking a button for a window that is not on the current workspace,
the "move to another workspace" features works unpredictably:
- sometimes it doesn't do anything;
- sometimes it moves the window to the first workspace regardless of what
workspace was chosen;
- sometimes it moves the window a workspace different then the one that was
asked;
- and sometimes, though rarely, it apparently moves the window off screen - as
the "move to another workspace" list shows all workspace options enabled and
selecting the window from the window list does not show it nor moves the view
to another workspace.
I've figured out that the behavior of "move to another workspace" is
predictable and depends mostly on what workspace you are currently
viewing, so for example if you're viewing workspace 2, then "move to
workspace 1" behaves like "move1 workspace left" while if you are
watching workspace 1, then "move to workspace 1" doesn't do anything,
Using "move to workspace right/left" works well regardless of which
workspace you are viewing, as well as moving windows that are on the
current workspace - only working with windows on another workspace is
broken.
