Lukas - Two things you can try:
1) Install an LTS backported 2.6.35 kernel from
http://ppa.launchpad.net/kernel-ppa/ppa/ubuntu
2) Boot with 'clocksource=tsc' (edit /etc/default/grub or hold the shift key to
catch the grub boot prompt)
