Update: linux-headers-2.6.35-14-generic was one of a few dependencies that I needed that weren't in the PPA. Thankfully, I did find all of them here: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/2.6.35-14.19/+build/1899998
I am pleased to report that installing the 2.6.35.14.16 backported kernel resolved the suspend/resume issues for me as well. Thanks to everyone for the assistance!
