Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: apt
When adding a PPA through add-apt-repository, it generates two files in
/etc/apt/sources.list.d. One is a .list containing the 'deb http://...'
info, and another .list.save, which is a backup of the former.
While reading the package list, apt-get spams the terminal with lines such as:
N: Ignoring file 'google-chrome.list.save' in directory
'/etc/apt/sources.list.d/' as it has an invalid filename extension
N: Ignoring file 'dockbar-main-ppa-maverick.list.save' in directory
'/etc/apt/sources.list.d/' as it has an invalid filename extension
N: Ignoring file 'google-chrome.list.save' in directory
'/etc/apt/sources.list.d/' as it has an invalid filename extension
N: Ignoring file 'dockbar-main-ppa-maverick.list.save' in directory
'/etc/apt/sources.list.d/' as it has an invalid filename extension
These messages are completely unnecessary and should be gagged, just
like in Lucid.
