Here’s a debdiff with the patches from upstream. I’ve tested it in my PPA <https://launchpad.net/~anders-kaseorg/+archive/ppa>, and it solves the problem. I can now compile and run real applications that require -fstack-protector (e.g. anything that links against libperl).
