Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: nvidia-glx
It appears nvidia-glx has been bumped to version 1.0.9755 from 1.0.9631.
Version 1.0.9755 no longer supports the GeForce4 chipset and the legacy
driver must be used instead. The legacy driver is not yet available in
the repos and the update-manager repeatedly upgrades the nvidia-glx
package. This results in a broken Xorg.
nvidia-glx-legacy needs to be upgraded and the information text changed
to indicate that users with GeForce4 chipsets should use it.
Update-manager should also detect when a chipset is downgraded to legacy
status and query the user over which version to install when upgrading.
I need to keep this machine working today but will try to attach the
Xorg error message later tonight.
** Affects: linux-restricted-modules-2.6.20 (Ubuntu)
