Actually you are using a personal package archive (PPA) of Rico Tzschichholz. However, that is also quite outdated. The official ubuntu version are even older, though: - in lucid lync_2.28.1~git20091125-1 - in maverick merkaat gnome-shell_2.31.2-1ubuntu1. You should contact the PPA owner to report the PPA issues, not launchpad.
