I have a similar situation with nouveau on Lucid. I'm running a self- compiled 2.6.33 kernel on a PPC computer, but Ubuntu's regular nouveau and drm packages.
X is running stable, but the (non-X) terminal resolution is low, the background picture in gdm and gnome has a "low-resolution copy" in the upper left corner, and Firefox only expands its bookmarks menu within that reduced area (720x576 instead of 1440x900, probably). xrandr output is as follows: Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1440 x 900, maximum 4096 x 4096 DVI-D-1 connected 1440x900+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 367mm x 229mm 1440x900 59.9* VGA-1 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) TV-1 connected 720x576+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 0mm x 0mm 720x576 50.0*+ 1024x768 50.0 800x600 50.0 720x480 50.0 640x480 50.0 400x300 100.0 320x240 100.0 320x200 100.0 There is no TV connected to this computer! I filed a bug on freedesktop.org, closer to the source, where I also describe a provisional fix: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=29455 My chipset is detected by nouveau as "NVIDIA NV18". ** Bug watch added: freedesktop.org Bugzilla #29455 http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=29455 -- KMS / nouveau incorrectly detects TV-out https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/582336 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
